Additional details

Sail Date: Jun 2015

This was our 7th RCI cruise. We've previously sailed on Freedon twice, Voyager twice, Mariner and Serende once. We've also sailed on Celebrity twice and Disney once. We are a couple with no children and love to cruise on a ship with an array of facilities and entertainment visiting a mix of ports to enable us to visit new and revisit previous favourites.

Embarkation

Quick - on ship within 10mins. However, slightly chaotic as RCI no longer use 'lines' upon entering the terminal we were directed to a member of staff with an IPAD to complete check-in. Staff were spread across the room and as you attempted to reach them and then head to the security point thereafter everyone was crisscrossing to get past each other and bumping into each other. We arrived at 11.45 I hate to think what it might have been like at peak time. Whilst I commend RCI for expediting the process a bit more order wouldn't have gone a miss.

Port Reviews

Vigo

Beautiful harbour

Gibraltar

DIY we walked to the cable car and started to queue. Fairly Long queue and as we were queueing heard a taxi driver offer a tour to the top, see the monkeys, visit the caves and a few more bits. €35 per person. The queue would have taken at least an hour plus so we missed the cabin car and had a fantastic door to door trip.

Seville

DIY we took the hop on hop off bus which starts by the cruise terminal. €16 per person. We saw all the sights.

Southampton

Car park within working distance
