Venice to Rome.

We chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary but because we wanted a bit of 'luxury' for husband's 60th birthday celebration.

I had read that Venice was chaotic and it was. It wasn't helped by a Rep at the arrivals who wasn't interested in my query about the coach transfer. She was only dealing with transfer vouchers and "I wasn't on her list" she quite rudely turned her back on me whilst I was talking and was no help. It was down to another passenger who let me know that I needed to walk through the arrivals hall 2 doors down and I would find coaches out there! Outside these doors there were so many Rep's it was unbelievable. They were very helpful but I would suggest 1 of them would be better employed inside.

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

Cabin 2B

Our cabin was 6036 and was lovely with gratefully received air-con, good shower and a balcony. I slept amazingly well! I always have such a problem with pillows when I'm away from home but I loved these. Storage space was great and the bathrobes lovely. Our steward and assistant were lovely too.

Port Reviews

Venice

Stunning city. You must get lost - see so much. Very busy. Beware drinks sitting outside and near musicians as these will cost you more. We went down a few streets and popped into a cafe and got a really good coffee and cake for reasonable prices.

Shuttle boat tickets can be bought cheaper than tickets issued on the ship.

If you can be on deck for the sail in or sail away you will not be disappointed. Fab to see the city from this level.

Dubrovnik

Shuttle bus taken from ship right to the old city gates so very convenient. City walls walk is approx 2 kms. Currency is not the Euro but we changed £20 easily at the city gates and only spent £10 equivalent on coffees and beers.

Very busy but very atmospheric. Game of Thrones tours easily bought where you get off the bus.

Kotor

Tender port. Very efficient. Stunning city. Small. Narrow streets. Very steep walk up to viewpoint.

Corfu

Pretty old town, good shops, cheap coffees and beers. Old fort and gardens on harbour front gave shady relief on hot day

Malta (Valletta)

Stunning city with steep streets and renovations still going on. Upper Barraka Gardens pretty. Take the lift up from the harbour to the city it's only 1 euro each return.
