Our first cruise was amazing. Since we didn't know what to expect, we had no expectations. We thought the food was very good. Obviously, in a week of eating you are going to have a meal that maybe isn't fantastic but we were happy with every one. Windjammer was very good as well. A shout out to our servers in the main dining room is warranted......Rodson, Hemsley, and Hilary did a tremendous job. Hilary took the time to find out that our picky eating sons favorite fruit was strawberries and what do you know, every meal after that there were strawberries brought out without asking. We decided we didn't want to dress up for formal night so we would just eat at windjammer those 2 nights. Rodson said we could not miss lobster night even though it was formal. He said they would let us in no problem and we could enjoy the lobster and prime rib. We dressed nice, just not formal and he was right. There were actually quite a few men not wearing ties or jackets. I know you formal cruise people probably don't like hearing that.
Activities were fun and plentiful. Was shocked that bingo was a minimum $40 though. The cruise director (Jamie) was very entertaining as was his staff. All of the entertainment was very impressive. The orchestra was excellent. Very talented musicians!!!!!
The ship was amazing and we would sail it again in a heartbeat. I did get a respiratory illness during the week that I am still getting over, but who knows if I got it on the ship or off. One thing I like better about all inclusive resorts is the drink policy. Having to buy drink packages doesn't thrill me, but I guess that's cruising.
