Sail Date: Jun 2015
Cabin: Superior Interior Stateroom

By far, this was the best trip of my life, including my two previous cruises. My traveling companion was in a wheelchair and the RCCL staff went over and above expectations to accommodate her needs. The stateroom was more than adequate, with plenty of space for her to be able to maneuver her chair around inside, including into the bathroom.

The embarkation/disembarkation process was exceptionally smooth and painless. We arrived in Barcelona early on the morning of the cruise and we were met quickly at the airport with our shuttle to the ship. The drivers (both coming and going to the airport) were friendly and accommodating with her wheelchair, as well.

The food was excellent in the dining room, and the Windjammer was good as well, although we did not eat there as much. The shows were spectacular ~ we waiting anxiously each evening to see what they would bring next.

Cabin Review

Superior Interior Stateroom

Cabin J

The cabin was one of the few that are wheelchair accessible. It was very large and fit our needs perfectly. There was plenty of room for my traveling companion to move around in her chair, including into the bathroom. We had more than enough closet and storage space, as well as a small loveseat and coffee table. The room was kept immaculate daily, with our linens being changed without fail by the time we returned to our cabin each day.

Port Reviews

Nice

We ported in Villefranche. The tender process went smoothly, even with a disabled passenger. The train was not accessible for wheelchairs in Villefranche and much to our disappointment, we took a taxi to Nice and the train station there was also not accessible. Our plan was to take the train to Monaco but we were unable to do so. None of the advertised excursions covered wheelchair accessibility in this port.

Florence (Livorno)

We booked a tour outside of RCCL, again due to no wheelchair accessible tours available. We went in a Mercedes van with 6 other passengers (8 of us total) and the cost was reasonable -- $600 Euro divided by the 8 of us. The city was beautiful and the museums incredible. We visited the Accademia and saw the Michael statue, which was probably the highlight of the day.
