First of all, this is a grand traditional ship. Second, Disney does what Disney does, it delivers a first rate experience for the youngster crowds. They replaced the casino, like they do on all of their ships, with a deck dedicated for kids activities, grouped by age. What they did not do is fleshout their experiences for the adult cruisers. Entertainment is Broadwayesque, Disney G-rated. But, we have cruised multiple times with Disney and have seen the exact same shows every time. The menus in the three restaurants (you are told when to go and where) have changed very little and frankly do not offer sufficient dining diversity for many. Our servers struggled with dining recommendations. Most of the menus have 3-4 selections in the different dining categories, but for most dining around us there was very little to choose from. There are no real alternatives and the buffet is limited. I know Disney is working to be different and to not have the multiple themed dining venues like many cruise lines, but Disney should at least work to provide more variety in its menu selections.

But it is formula Disney and we did go back. We went back because the Disney service is unbeatable. We have sailed on NCL, Holland, Princess, RC. No one comes close to Disney service. It is a great cruise if you are an adult, to send the children away to play and to do nothing.

Our biggest complaint and downside to the cruise is the information flow. We have cruised Disney multiple times before and found this cruise to be very lacking in information. Multiple times the cruise director told cruisers to look at the navigator which is basically a spread sheet. But the standard announcements and expplanations of activities was very limited. Embarking and disembarking procedures at port calls were not clearly explained.
