12 family members, ranging in age from 16 - 80 met in Barcelona to cruise the Mediteranean and enjoy time together. The Allure of the Seas provided a perfect venue. Something for everyone to do each day and ample time to meet on board for dinner and review the day.
The food is delicious, varied and plentiful. I enjoyed the Karaoke Bar, Piano Bar, and the track immensely. Other family members enjoyed the Casino, Surf Pool, Teen Club and Bingo. Each day, after breakfast, we went our separate ways on excursions into the Ports.
My husband took fabulous pictures at the Lavendar Fields. Grandma, 2 of my daughters and I went to Ax de Provence and spent the day with Gilles Conchy of Provence Gourmet. Our's was an unforgettable experience. We met in downtown Provence. We walked around and felt like locals. We purchased food in the market, wine at a Chateau, and proceeded to Gilles Conchy's home to cook and enjoy our meal for the day! We met and got to know other people from Ireland and the US also in our cooking group. Gilles made sure everyone felt comfortable and participated in the meal. He made sure we had proper location information and arranged taxi for our safe return! The food was delicious and i feel confident we can repeat the recipes at home. A lovely way to see Provence and enjoy time together as a family. We also traveled to Florence and Pisa, Rome and Capri. All our transportation worked well and we enjoyed exploring all the venues on the Allure of the Seas! Our cabin attendant treated us like honored guests. The Men who waited on us in the dining room each night were charming, knowledgable and efficient. I recommend this cruise for families of any ages.
Great Cabin, Freyda took great care of us! Plenty of room. Nice VIew of the water. Close to elevator. Plenty of room for clothing. Shower had nice water pressure.
We walked around Barcelona on our own. Las Ramblas was a very cool area. We enjoyed the outdoor market, had Sangria and Paella outside. Used public transportation very efficiently. On the return trip, we toured La Sagrada Familia. Very cool Church under construction for over 100 years. Fascinating. Ate Tapas everywhere we went! Delicious!
We took the Shuttle Bus into town and walked to the nearest Beach. Enjoyed the lovely weather and view. We then walked to the central area, shopped and ate Tapas!
My husband rented a car and took pictures with other family members. They enjoyed themselves as well.
