Nice Cruise. Love the small ship with LESS people (in port).

Did the NCL Sun from June 8-22, 2015, north then south bound cruise for 14 days. With my wife and 12 year old son. Loved it! Miss being on the ship. The north and south bound legs have slightly different itinerary. Such as Glacier Bay (north bound) and Icy Strait Point (south bound). Both were outstanding. Even though we also visited the same port in the northbound and on the south (Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway) we were glad we were able to visit these ports twice, we wouldn't have been able to see and do more.. which we wouldn't have been able to in a single day.

We're not food snobs...Food on the ship was fine, not high quality but we enjoyed it. Some items were the same each day, but there were certain dishes that were different every day.

Truly enjoyed the size of the ship. Didn't feel jam packed, and when we had a port day the amount of people in port wasn't overwhelming on shore.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Stayed in cabin 11013 (1013 Mini Suite). Room steward Roy was nice and courteous. Loved the size of the room and bathroom. Full size tub that is really deep. Also, there is actually Five 110 outlets throughout the cabin (I had a hard time finding that info before the cruise). No outlets near the beds. 2 outlets at the desk, 1 behind the tv, 1 at the entry vanity, and 1 in the bathroom vanity. The shampoo and soap dispensers were a bit annoying though. The caps on them kept popping off. The location of the cabin was the best, on deck 11 right next to everything we needed (Fitness Center, Buffets, Pool, stairs and elevators.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

Visit the National Park Rangers in the Observation Lounge. If you get up early enough, you can watch them board the ship at 6am (we saw them from our balcony). Expect to see the first Glacier about 9am.

Icy Strait

Hike the short trail that runs in the back. Look for eagles near the shoreline. Also, see whales offshore (really close!).
