I am a 48 year female who was traveling with 3 other ladies. This was our 4th NCL cruise and we absolutely loved it. We had a forward balcony which I would def. recommend on any ship when leaving NYC harbor. The view was worth every penny we paid extra for the suite.
I can not comment on the food in the dining room because we ate at specialty restaurants each night. Out of those, we ate at Cagney's twice. The Cajun ribeye was spectacular. We also at Teppanyaki. It was a nice show on the food there was really good. We ate at Moderno the last night and that was most of our group's favorite. The only recommendation here is to not wait till the last night because we ate so much. It would have been nice to be able to "walk it off" on the cruise. It was yummy too. The lamb was my favorite out of the selections there. We also went to Le Bistro and the Italian restaurant. These were ok. They obviously didn't make as much as an impression on me as I don't even remember what I got to eat those nights. I do remember ordering a Sangria at the Italian restaurant. Maybe that is why I can't remember??
The itinerary was grand. We loved being in Canada and wearing a sweatshirt, then sailing back to Maine and being warm enough just for a T Shirt. Halifax was a great port. We did the Top 10 places to see tour through the cruise line and that was my favorite day. We didn't book an excursion for St Johh's Bay and I was glad. That day was foggy almost all day and a paid excursion would have been a waste. The best place at St John's was Steamers Restaurant there on the docks. We had a whole lobster meal there and it was delicious!! In Portland, we did the best of Portland and Kennebunkport tour. Kennebunkport is a charming town that we all want to go back and visit for a longer stay. We got to drive by Walker Point where almost all the Bush's were there visiting Mrs. Barbara for her 90th birthday. If there, try the ice cream place right up from Allison's Restaurant (I think Rocco's). They have the neatest flavors and were really nice in there.
Loved the forward suite. The view leaving NYC was phenomenal. Being able to see 180 degrees was nice.
