Celebrity Solstice Review

Alaskan Cruise

Review for Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Stayed in seattle 2 days in advance at maxwell pineapple hotel. Very coveniently located...just took a town car taxi from the carpark at seatac...there was an official attendant there as soon as you walk in from the main airport concourse. Agreed price in advance. And the hotel was very close to the ports for the day of embarkation, with a 12:00 checkout being good timing to leave for checkin at the port In the afternoon. Dont pay too much attention to the deck checkin times....there is so much congestion staff havemt got time to check ! We were an hour early.

Entertainment on the ship was great...magician, hypnotist, comedian and dance acts...and great factual speakers. Theatre was one of the best we've seen.

Food was so so. The Oceanview Cafe buffet area wasn't as good as we've experienced on other ships. And the sit down meals in the main restaurant were reasonable...service could be a bit slow sometimes. Cafe al bacio had very nice cakes and the best coffees. The english breakfast tea in the Oceanview was really weak...wife stuck to coffee....nice tropical juices though..bit of a tang !

Cabin Review

Ocean View 8

Cabin was really nice...deck 3 state room ocean view....perfectly fine for us .....better than the usual round portholes...nice bigger squarer windows...plus were hardly in there....but very nice comfortable and spacious rooms.

And we found deck 3 convenient for access to the guest relations and central stair case, theatres and restaurant access as they were on a floor or two above us and so easy to get to via stairs rather than waiting for lifts. But would say the lifts were very frequent and quick.

Port Reviews

Victoria

Pleasant city which we just walked around...you can easily catch a taxi from the port to the centre of victoria.....quicker and easier than ship transfer...and actually better than taking the downtown shuttle recommended by ship...exactly the same price. We were 'toured' out by then, and just walked around exploring ourselves.
