Ship is way too big with too many passengers for such small hallways and too few elevators. We were told that with children, there were over 4600 passengers aboard. First off, we were in a mini suite and the toilet would not flush. Had to call plumber. My husband tried to take a shower on first night and got burned from hot water. Couldn't get it any colder. Had to call plumber to fix it. On two of the 7 days, our Air conditioning gave out and when we returned to the room in the afternoon, it must have been 90 degrees in the room,
Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best in the complimentary dining rooms. We unfortunately had to pay extra in three of the specialty restaurants which were very good. You should not have to pay extra for food when the cost of food is included in your ticket price. Norwegian truly nickels and dimes you to death with all sorts of fees and gratuities and 18% gratuity on everything. There is even a charge every time you use a slot machine in the Casino. The entertainment was not very good. Fortunately, Arvin and Emily sang in the Atrium and were excellent. We went to see them every night. The Dueling Pianos and Burn the Floor were also very good, but everything else was a waste of time. We even walked out of a couple of shows. It is a real hassle trying to schedule everything as you need reservations for everything. We had to have dinner at 8:30 p.m. a couple of times because we couldn't get any other reservations. Not once could we get a chair near the pool. It was so crowded from first thing in the morning until late in the day. My last Norwegian cruise in 2007 was so much better. I have been on many other cruiselines and have never had these experiences. Don't think I will travel with Norwegian ever again.
Except for the toilet not working and the shower water too, too hot and the air conditioning shutting down on two days, the cleanliness and size of the cabin was good. The bathroom was unusually large for cruise ships. The bathrooms were very comfortable.
It takes so long to walk to your room because the ship is way too big and the hallways way to narrow. You had to actually turn sideways to pass the cleaning carts in the hallway.
The lines to drop off your luggage were so long that we decided to take our own luggage on and off the ship ourselves. It made it a little more tiring lugging everything all over the building and boarding was not as easy as in the past. Extremely long lines and waiting.
