This is a very aggressive itinerary; give yourself extra time to recover.

This is a great little ship. I was blown away how beautiful this ship was renovated. It has a lot of the features of the big ships with shorter lines and quicker embarkations. It can do the smaller ports than the big ships. The crew was absolutely wonderful.

This is a very aggressive itinerary and unless you are physically capable do not try this. Right off the bat you will hit three ports back to back. We gave ourselves two days in Barcelona but that was barely enough to recover enough energy to see three countries in three days. Fortunately you get two days off then back to business. I'm glad we only booked excursions in Rome, Florence and Athens. Those three cities are one to two hours from the port so you have to book if you want to get off the boat to see anything worthwhile. The rest of the ports are self guided and easy to navigate. However our biggest mistake was not bringing a hand held gps. This is an absolutely indispensable tool in Europe where the street signs are hidden or non existent. I assume you could buy one in the US and download the European maps. A lot of people booked their own excursions but we heard that it can cost you as much as the cruise to get to the next port if you don't get back in time so didn't chance it. But many people said they were pleased with their smaller personal tours and not time we might me more adventurous.

The ports we liked in order from best to worst:

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

Cabin was nice and roomy. Might have been better with inside cabin so we could get better sleep.

Port Reviews

Cannes

Great city. We found the French to be extremely nice compared to all the other ports. They spoke great English and made us feel very welcome.

Barcelona

Great city with so much to do and see. If we booked again we would have given more time to stay here. At least three days.

Kusadasi

We walked into town and the shop people were very aggressive. This is unfortunate because the best deals are here and you spend too much effort fighting them off when you could be buying stuff. I wish could go back again and buy more clothing, pottery, and watches. I got some great stuff here. They take euros dollars and Turkish money. Contrary to what some think this is not a dangerous country. They made us feel very safe and extremist Muslims are hated here. The police are very aggressive and do not allow any tourists to be targets. One of my favorite ports!

Santorini

Beautiful port with great food and good shopping. We took the donkey trail and could have gotten hurt. Don't do it. Take the tram or boat around and come in by bus.

Positano (Amalfi)

I don't know why we liked this port so much. It's beautiful and you feel very immersed in the culture but the shop keepers were generally rude and make no attempt to speak English. Maybe it's the first time we felt were no longer a tourist. We had good food and a nice walk around town.
