  3. Brilliance of the Seas
Harwich made an excellent departure port being not too far to drive from home. 25 minutes car park to cabin equals speedy embarkation, something RCI seem to excel at. This was our first time on a Radiance Class ship and we were impressed having a few weeks earlier been on Anthem of the Seas. The cabin an inside on deck 8 was spacious and kept clean by an excellent steward. We had selected My Time Dining and it worked well. Service was attentive and the food acceptable. The new style menu's give the impression that it is a 3 course meal but in fact if selected correctly it was a 4 course. Surprised they ran out of Rose wine half way through the cruise though. The entertainment compared favourably with other cruise lines and a couple of the shows were excellent. Never had a problem getting a seat unless arriving just as the show started. It was a surprise to find that smoking was allowed in the casino bearing in mind the alleged effects from passive smoking. Giovanni's and Chops Grill were a delight. For the extra charged it was worth it. The ports of call were excellent with lots to see in all of them. The sail out from Stockholm was in my opinion only second to Venice. The sun was shining as we twisted and turned through the islands and made for a memorable experience. Skagen was a complete surprise and an area that I would like to return to for a longer stay. St Petersburg was the jewel in the crown. So much to see and such beauty as it would be difficult to find anything near it anywhere else in the world. The staff at guest relations like the others on the ship were excellent. All in all a good cruise experience representing excellent value for money.
