My husband and I love to cruise and we have been on this ship before. It was a Caribbean cruise and we had a great time! The ship is good, but not sure a ship this big works in these Mediterranean Ports. Way too many people seeing the same sites! An example is we went on a North Coast and wine tasting excursion in Palma de Mallorca. Two coaches with 96 people all piled into a small house we toured and the winery. I would not recommend doing your shore excursions with Royal Caribbean but rather book with a reputable tour agency and do a private or small group tour. We did two of these and enjoyed the tour so much more. Both of our tours had just 12 people. So much better than 50 people piling on and off a large coach!

With many of the sites being at least an hour from the ports, it's hard to take advantage of onboard activities unless you skip the shore excursions all together. All of the ports are commercial ports and therefore don't have anything within immediate walking distance. You need to plan ahead to see the sites you are interested in.

One thing that particularly shined was our diner at Chef's Table. The food and service was outstanding! I would not recommend the 150 Central Park. Food was just so so. At Giovanni's the best part of the dinner is the appetizers. Chops Grill is a below average steak house. Definitely not worth the uplift charge. The steak was very dry and not flavorful. A recent change they've made only allows you to order one entrée, so you can't have surf and turf any longer. Service was mediocre. We have eaten at numerous Brazilian Steak Houses and love them, but you should skip Samba Grill. The staff was friendly but the food not worth the price. The filet was good, but everything else was buffet quality. The pork and chicken lacked flavor and were very dry. Other meats full of fat and grizzle!

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D6

The configuration of this cabin was odd. The bed was immediately inside the door which meant you had to walk between an 18" space between the bed and wall to get to the couch and ultimately the balcony. Also the closet was approximately 24" off the side of the bed. My husband and I had to take turns in the closet. The bathroom was also oddly configured. The counter extension to the left of the sink went directly beside the toilet. No way to get to things without leaning over the toilet. We know cabins are tight from our numerous cruises, but this was a first where the configuration adversely effected movement around the cabin.
