Allure of the Seas Cruise Review by Mermaid2013
- Sail Date: May 2015
- Destination: Europe
- Cabin Type: Owner's Suite - 1 Bedroom
Thought the food places were good. So much selection from the dining room to the buffet places there is no way you couldn't find something you liked. Yes people complained about this and that from previous cruises that we overheard but we loved everything. Our stateroom attendant was terrific as well as everyone we met. Always a smile even the people working the pool decks when it was super hot outside bringing drinks. My drink got knocked over and someone was there right away to replace it and didn't even ask for my drink card. They just asked what it was and got me another no questions.
the only time I felt pushed or bombarded was in the spa. My mother and I received massages and before I could even get my clothes on I was urged persistently to purchase $144 worth of skin care products. Also, there is no relaxation room afterward or ability to use the shower, steam room etc which would have made for a nice day. Next time I would skip the spa stuff. The massage was excellent though but I felt tossed out afterward when your still in that dreamy state.
Shout out to Richard in the main dining room too for excellent service.
Excursions: We did some and all were good except the Grotto tour in Capri. If you don't go at the right time all you see is a little blue water at the entrance and then complete darkness. It was also a little cavern so you are in and out quick. For 35 Euro a person it is something that I will file been there done that. Capril was beautiful! You could spend a while there for sure.
Anyone wanting to book this cruise should do it! We did it again for 2016 and can't wait. There is just so much to do that a week is not long enough to enjoy everything the ship has to offer and all the ports.

Florence Walking TourWe booked the tour even though we had been there before and pretty much did it on our own. The stop at the leather shop is a wasted bit b/c of the VERY HIGH prices. Our tour guide though was great on the bus with lots of knowledge about the area and was easy to talk to about little placesView All 125 Florence Walking Tour Reviews
Aix-en-ProvenceOur bus got stuck behind a bus that broke down therefore we never made it to Aix. Also, a small town for so many tour buses it took forever in traffic. It was so hot and Marseille did not have a lot to see so we took a taxi back to the ship. the cruise line refunded our money which was great.View All 110 Aix-en-Provence Reviews
Blue Grottoif you don't go at the right time of day all you see is a little blue water b/c of the sunlight at the entrance to the cave. Its a small cave with a 20 second boat ride in and out. The pictures are prettier than the experience for 35 Euro each plus tips but at least we did it. Would not recommend.View All 13 Blue Grotto Reviews
