Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Review by sarasotababe
- Sail Date: June 2015
- Destination: British Isles & Western Europe
- Cabin Type: Sky Suite
We booked a Sky Suite 2. The cabin is a nice size however the bathroom is small with a tub/shower combo. It was very high and hard to get into and out of. The maid and butler service was wonderful. Orlando (our butler) was very disappointed with us because we are very low maintenance. He was always available and brought us treats even when we didn't ask for them.
Celebrity has started a separate dining room for suites people. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff was. The food was exceptional. Every meal was a three star Michelin experience. Out of the 12 days we had only one dinner that was just average and that had to do with what we ordered. We have to say that the options are limited. There are five appetizers to choose from. We tended to order more than one. For the main course there are five options pasta, fish, poultry, meat or vegetarian. Their filets are better than any steak house we go to ie Shulas, Mortons etc. the portions tend to be on the smaller side but many people ordered more than one. Then comes the dessert. Each dessert was better than the one before. Their presentation is superb. Chocolate is their specialty. They really have outdone themselves with this dining experience. The best thing is that you do not have to dress up eve on formal nights. In addition they do not believe in sharing tables. Everyone gets their own but they are close enough to have conversations with others. The wait staff is extremely well trained. By the second day they already called us by name and knew what we liked.
Pool and gym
We were pleasantly surprised by the solarium. This was especially necessary since the weather was cold and dreary. We never had a difficult time getting a lounge chair. The gym was well equipped and hardly used. We went around 7am and there was rarely any more than a dozen people there. I guess not a workout crowd.
We kept to ourselves mostly and did not participate in any shows or activities. We never realized that there were 3000+ people on board.
This ship is a keeper.
