My husband and I chose a cruise with Royal Caribbean as our honeymoon, and were disappointed beyond all belief. To start off our trip, we boarded at 2:00 and were not able to get into our rooms until 2 hours later, my husbands luggage was delivered to the wrong room, and mine was not delivered at all which resulted in my husband going to the unattended luggage room and pulling my bag himself at 8:00 at night. Not only that, but despite Royal Caribbean knowing we were a honeymooning couple, our room was positioned in between two families with very small children. The food on board was absolutely horrible, only available at certain times, and despite making reservations at the restaurants on board, we were still subjected to waiting online for half an hour before being able to sit down to a meal that was obviously cooked in bulk, hours before it actually made it to your plate.

Service is a word that Royal Caribbean does not understand the meaning of. Time and time again we were met with rude, incompetent wait staff and bar tenders, and the employees working in guest services and shore excursions were completely ignorant of what the ports of call were like, what to expect, and were unable to give any recommendations to us at all in regards to where to eat, what attractions there are, or even what kind of weather to expect. Perhaps the most aggravating aspect of dining are your drinks, with the beverage package, you are forced to carry around a large plastic coca cola cup, without which you cannot use the soda machines which are also inconveniently manned by more incompetent staff, causing lines for drinks to take you anywhere from 5-15 minute waits.

Entertainment was obviously geared toward the geriatric crowd and families, which led us to spending the majority of our time on board in the casino. The shops on board were extremely expensive, name brand retailers that we could not afford to even look in their windows.
