Just returned from the 7-day June 14, 2015 sailing of Allure of the Seas, departing and returning to Barcelona. This was our 5th cruise, 3rd on Royal. We also cruised Disney previously.
Boarding and Disembarking - we arrived about 9:30am on boarding day, checked in at the port within a few minutes and waited until boarding started at 11:00am. When our group was called, we boarded quickly, went right to the Solarium Bistro for lunch. Easily one of the quickest and smoothest boarding processes we've experienced. Our rooms were ready at 1:00 as promised and our luggage arrived shortly thereafter. Five stars for boarding!
Disembarking at each port was also a breeze. At the final port, we opted for the express checkout and carried out our own bags. There was some confusion with baggage as we boarded the busses, but it all worked out. Would have been nice to know in advance how the baggage transfer process to the airport worked. The airport in Barcelona was a mess, as we stood in line for over and hour to check in, but that's not Royal's fault. 4.5 stars for disembarking.
Stayed in this handicap accessible room on deck 12. Lots of room, but the 4th bed was not good at all. It was made from a a chair in the room instead of a couch and was not comfortable at all. Disappointing since we needed sleeping room for 4. The fridge was pre-stocked with FOR-FEE food and beverages which was annoying. We has purchased bottled water and there was no room to keep it cold.
