We are married couple with a seven-year-old boy who have cruise three times previous to this on Carnival Celebrity and Disney. Her most recent experience was on Disney prior to this cruise and isn't fair to compare Norwegian Spirit to Disney and I will do my best not to. This was an incredible itinerary which is why we chose the show with only two see days and the rest at key Ports with access to the sites of the ancient world, It couldn't be beat. Our son utilize the onboard children's area and was pleased with that although its size and scope was nowhere near what we have seen on other cruise lines.

With an early wake up and many miles of walking each day on a tour we were exhausted by evening and rarely took advantage of any of the shows or activities. The shows we did see were excellent, and the musicians located throughout the ship added great atmosphere. With us having an early bedtime, I'm all previous cruises the cabin steward was able to prepare our cabin early so that when we returned after dinner we could get our son to bed. In cabin 10565, our steward just couldn't grasp that concept and each night we would be in bed with the do not disturb sign on our door when he probably came around to clean our room. I did mention it to him at the beginning that we have to put our son to bed early but that did not seem to register.

Service elsewhere on the ship was very good staff were warm and attentive always greeting you and demonstrating professionalism. One location that sorely missed service were the drink waiters around the pool. On any previous crews attendance would almost not leave you alone for five minutes without asking you if you wanted to drink. On the Norwegian Spirit you could sit for five hours without being asked if you wanted to drink. The attention to detail just wasn't the same as on other lines. I'd find a bar glass left on a main stairwell at 5:30 am on my way to get coffee and that just should be there. Crew should be more attentive.

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin IF

The cabin was significantly smaller than any other we had been in before. The major missing item was a sofa and the space to place it. Having no place other than the bed to sit got old real quick

Port Reviews

Venice

Our hotel shuttle brought us right to the pier, no need to walk or find our way around.
