Just got back and thought I’d write an off the top of my head review while it is still fresh in my mind for those who are going to go on this cruise in the future. I had very high expectations of this cruise and it did not disappoint. Wanted to give my 2 cents of my experience of this cruise. I wanted to really experience this ship and did not do any tours on the three stops but can give you my feedback of what I thought about things around the ship.

Embarkation:

I strongly recommend taking a cab from the airport and it only cost about 15 dollars, especially good if you are travelling with a few other people. It was not as easy as I would have thought to get on the ship and what I heard on line here. There were a gazillion people cramming into two separate areas and it took at least 45 minutes to get on board, and we were pretty tired from the flight already. I think a lot of people were complaining because it seemed rather disorganized, even though they had a lot of employees working. We went to the Solarium café as we got onboard around 12:30 and heard the Windjammer might be packed. They had good decent food, but there was no air conditioning at the time so that was a little uncomfortable. We walked by Windjammer afterwards and the food looked much better with better variety.

Cabin Review

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin N

I always book an inside, 7535, not just because I’m cheap (!) but also I actually don’t spend much time in my cabin, it was very pleasant and our attendant Oscar was very pleasant to talk with and very meticulous, got us extra pillows and ice every evening. The inside cabin had a LOT of storage, the showers were great but whatever happened to the days when you had lotion and shower gel and conditioner? There was one generic shower gel in the shower, so definitely bring your toiletries with you. They do not provide kits for toothbrushes etc (I forgot mine) but you can buy them at the gift shop. I did have one observation about the so called “balcony cabins” facing the Central Park or Boardwalk, I would rather have an inside, it seems that it would be extremely loud not just from the park or boardwalk but also from the pool deck above. I don’t know if anyone can recommend these cabins but I would find it irritating to listen to all the noise from these public areas.
