Embarkation was chaos and poorly organized. Disembarkation went much better or I was just glad to get off the ship. About the only good thing I have to say about this ship is that the shower was nice. The cabin was an obstructed view which was okay except the location was too close to the center court and was very noisy most of the time. The closet was so small that it was difficult to get even half our clothing hung up. The remote for the TV did not work properly and we had to call to get a replacement. There were no glasses in our room the entire first day and night and we had to ask for those and for our ice bucket to be filled. I would rather the cabin stewards spend more time cleaning our cabin earlier each day than making towel animals.
The food in the complimentary dining rooms was excruciatingly mediocre and the variety on the menus just as bad. We had a couple of good waiters/waitresses but on the whole they seemed to just be doing enough to get by and didn't seem to really care whether or not you had a pleasant dining experience even when we tried to engage them. The bar service was excessively slow and the various bar wait staff seemed to take forever to take your order and return. The entertainers were very good but the venues for those entertainers were terrible. The seats in the theater were uncomfortable and hard to get to. There were numerous seats that had poles disrupting the view of the stage. Any entertainment or instruction in the center court area was difficult to see or hear unless you were right up front. Seating was dismal. Finding a quiet place was extremely difficult because there was a very large "specialty" group of passengers that seemed to be everywhere in large or small groups and quiet did not seem to be part of their retinue. I would recommend Alaska as a destination but never, ever under any circumstances recommend NCL!
Walked around town. There were some interesting sights and we enjoyed the day.
The park rangers were knowledgeable and accessible for questions. Glaciers and scenery were beautiful.
