Decided to write review after having read many bad reviews regarding the MSC Preziosa.

I have cruised on Princess several times, the last being on the Royal Princess Inaugural cruise of the Mediterranean 2013. I have also cruised on Carnival and NCL cruise lines. I was not expecting MSC to be of a high standard after reading negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised during my 7 night cruise of the Med in May 2015 on board the Preziosa. The ship is beautiful and the food was of a very good standard with the buffet offering lots of choices. The pool areas were well set out with lots of deck chairs and the water slide was providing children with lots of fun. I don't travel with children but noticed a lot more families on board this ship with children all having a good time. I didn't experience any bad behaviour by people pushing in during buffet times as experienced by some others in their reviews. The people on board the ship were mainly mixed European Nationalities but this is expected on an Italian ship. Being Australian we are always the minority on European cruises but I enjoyed the company of the Italians and Spanish people that I met on board, I found it a pleasant experience. The staff on board were also very pleasant they might not be as attentive as staff on Princess but they are around and more than happy to help you if needed. The entertainment was also very good and yes they do announce everything in nearly 4 languages at the start of show. If this really bothers you come 5 minutes later and you wont have to listen through it, but really this is no deal breaker you get used to it. The time in some ports is a lot shorter than I have experienced with other cruise lines but found the time to be enough in most ports to match the sites to be seen. Will I cruise MSC again, definitely, if the ports of call interest me and the price is right. The preziosa really is a beautiful ship not to be missed due to some negative reviews. Then again if you want to be surrounded by Americans choose an American ship.
