In spite of being fans of Holland America in the past, the Ryndam was below expectations.

The food in the main dining room was often lukewarm, and the description of items on the menu was misleading. Service in the Lido was disorganised and sometimes only one side of the food servery was open, which caused overcrowding.

Maintenance was being performed on two of the forward elevators which was the cause of delays when leaving and boarding the ship when in port, as the gangway and tender point was forward of the ship. There was a lot of noise from welding machinery too. Read more
