This was only my fourth cruise, the first in many years and my first aboard a Celebrity ship. This was also my first experience in a suite and I have to say it was worth every extra penny!
Our suite was larger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in and the veranda was huge. We had an aft cabin and enjoyed the fact that we could see, and sometimes talk to, people on other verandas below us. We did NOT enjoy the fact that one of our neighbors smoked on their veranda, and that we were often driven off ours by their smoke. Against the rules and selfish, since the ship provides smoking areas. But what can you do? Well, more on that later....
We had fun trying all the dining options aboard the ship. Our favorite, by far, was Blu. The food was fantastic and the service a bit more to our liking. On our first night we tried Silk Harvest and I found the service to be a bit...overwhelming. I didn't get much time to talk to my spouse because all f the different servers kept showing up to ask if we wanted something, if everything was okay, or sometimes just to talk. This may have partially been due to the fact that the restaurant was largely empty. The food was underwhelming at SH and I don't think I would dine there again, given the chance. We only tried the MDR during lunch one day and during a high tea that a friend invited us to. Excellent service, but the lunch food was only so-so (do go to the tea, if you get this offer). Luminae was quite good food, but the 5 courses were just too much for us and the lengthy meal service just wasn't a good fit for us. Tuscan Grille, however, was amazing. Great food, impeccable service.I felt like our waiter (Sherwin) was reading my mind at every turn.
The sea was too rough and we were advised by the port not to dock.
