My family just disembarked from the Liberty of the Sea two days ago and had a terrific time. Like the nut case that I am I made notes from time to time so that I could wright an accurate review when I returned home. This usually happened while I was lounging by the pool with a big coconut full of rum in my hand or standing on deck 12 waiting for the sun to rise. Cruise reviews have been important to me in preparing for cruises and I like to return the favor when possible.

My wife and I are 50 and 51 and we sailed with our three adult children, 21, 22 and 24. We were in an outside cabin with veranda and the other three shared an interior cabin. We sailed from Port Liberty, New Jersey on June 4 for Bermuda, St. Maarten, San Juan and Labadee Haiti and returned on June 13. Living in Connecticut, we wanted to try the port as it’s only 2 ½ hours from home and eliminating air travel would greatly increase our vacation options.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Our exterior cabin was very nice and in good condition. There were no immediate signs of age and the carpet looks new. It smelled fresh and ready to go as soon as we walked in. The curtains were a bit wrinkled but it looked like a previous occupant may have tied them back for some reason. The Veranda was larger than I’ve seen on other ships and also very clean.

Our cabin attendant wasn’t up to cruise standards and this was a disappointment since we’ve always had great attendants in the past. She rarely came near our cabin unless I personally asked her and clean towels were hit or miss. I often saw her in other areas talking on her telephone. The cabin attendant that took care of my children’s cabin was fantastic and was tipped very well for her efforts. The cabin was a bit narrower then we've seen on other ships, but just a little. The bed was very comfortable and had a few different thicknesses of pillows to choose from. The veranda was a bit larger then I've seen and was clean and in good shape. The bathroom was easy to get used to and was better put together then other I've had. There was quite a bit of storage under the bed and in the large closet. My wife and I had four large bags and some smaller carry-on bags and had room to stash every one away and out of site. The cabin had the same one power outlet as all the rest so I was happy that I brought a power bar for charging things. The shower had a curved sliding door rather than a curtain, always a nice touch. The six draws were large enough for several days’ worth of clothes and the there was plenty on counter space.
