It's been some years since we cruised with Celebrity. It's shocking how much this line has deteriorated. We chose this cruise for the itinerary, which did not disappoint, although in hindsight, we missed having more sea days.

Upon our embarkation, we had to ask several times for expedited boarding due to mobility issues. (This is our 5th cruise in 18 months. On every other one, we were immediately directed to the quick boarding line.) We were second in the "expedited check-in" with 4 people working the desk, yet had we stayed in the normal check-in line where about 30 people were waiting, we would have boarded sooner. Those working expedited check-in either ignored us or chose to coo at the baby in line before us. No one from the ship was there to help us with a wheel chair. Our boarding "passport" was empty, no deck plan - what was the point?

First order of business was to correct the dinner seating. Although we told the ship before departure that they got it wrong, it was not changed. When we asked the maitre d' about "anytime" dining, we got a sullen "no" repeatedly. He reluctantly changed us to the later seating. Not a good first impression.

Port Reviews

Venice

Never fails to charm.

Easy walk from vaporetto to People Mover, although the approximate 1/4 mile walk from the People Mover to the ship could be trying for those with mobility issues.

Koper

Nice little town, nothing spectacular. Take the free lift up the cliff to the square. Piran was more charming. You can get a bus there. If you want to go to Bled, book in advance, private excursions pricey.

Zadar

Nice little town, just average. Taxi there from ship pricey. Interesting Roman architectural elements. Bumpy streets, some narrow. Good photo opps.

Split

Walking distance from the ship. Crowded with 5 or 6 ships in port. Toured cellars from old Roman town, then the town itself. Interesting Roman ruins. Fish market fun to watch and photograph.
