Although this was our first cruise and I have nothing to compare it to, I am only giving a 3. The pool was disappointingly small, we were dismayed at its backyard size. The "elbow to elbow" people was a big turn off. Rooms were sufficient and the bed was comfortable. Wasn't impressed with staff. We rarely saw our steward and the one time we called he sounded as if we had woken him from a nap (it was 4 o'clock in the afternoon). Food was just OK, we had 2 experiences where a HAIR was found in our food. GROSS. That kind of ruined it for us. Wasn't fun having to check all meals for hair before eating. I found myself in disbelief watching the staff replenish the ice cream machine with boxes of powered flavoring and the lemonade machine with "lemon flavored drink". The shows I saw were good and the lounge they were in was really nice. I do not agree with the gratuities policy. Guests should be empowered to dictate what they feel is fair especially if they've found hair in their food, rarely saw their steward or asked for much of anything. Seems unfair to assume that everyone had the same experience therefore requiring everyone to pay the same minimum gratuity per person. Having said all of that I would cruise again but most likely will try a different cruise line.
