We decided to try NCL's newest class of ship with some family that haven't cruised in over 15 years. My family has cruised alot. First off the ship design is not good. The multi level atrium host shows and activities. The problem is that it is very loud. So if you need to do anything with guest services or spend time in the Internet cafe, it is extremely loud. So loud, you have to scream to the agent. Even reading in the library is difficult. Then the idea of having 2 elevator lobbied instead of the traditional three makes for some long waits for a elevator and long walks. Finally, the pool area is extremely crowded. The adult pool area is so loud when the band is playing that you can't relax. The service is extremely slow in the restaurants. And even the pay restaurants makes you wonder what the cover charge is for....it's not exceptional service. And forget asking for a straw. Or anything else. They have you hostage. They know you can't leave the ship. We ran into several rude staff members. It's like they know you can't leave and you have to take their attitude. There is the ice cream saga. Someone explain how the soft serve ice cream machine isn't working every night. On top of that, the buffet closes at 11:30pm and the late performances get out between 11:30pm and 11:45pm. So you get sent to the 24 hour eatery. Guess what.....they change their menu at 11:00pm. Guess what the late night menu doesn't have on it. Yes - ice cream or any other sweets. That's right. No sweets on the largest NCL ship after 11:30pm. Oh but there is a special soda fountain menu that they actually charge for ice cream in the 24 hour eatery. But fear not, it is not available after 11pm. Back to the Garden Cafe...this time in the middle of the afternoon on a sea day....guess what is not available after 3:30pm. You guessed it. Ice cream. I'm not a huge fan of ice cream. But the family that came with us is and they noticed it. And let me just mention that the entire ship nickel and dimes every single passenger. From their menus to services. It's evident that NCL just loves making people, who possibly saved for years for a nice vacation, spend a week in fear of their end of the bill. If NCL would spend as much event and thought into their on board service as they did greeting us in Nassau as we got back on the ship, they would have a decent product. Princess...I'm coming back to you.

Disappointed

First off the ship design is not good. The multi level atrium host shows and activities. The problem is that it is very loud.
