When we first sailed Princess 10 years ago in Alaska, we were very impressed. The food, service, and amenities were all first rate. Gradually, we have noticed all of these going downhill, to the point that this cruise will be probably be our last on Princess.

Although the dining room was generally good at dinner, the service has become lax especially at breakfast. The coffee is truly horrible--they should be ashamed to serve essentially brown dishwater. If you want anything near a decent cup (and this is still only average) you have to buy a coffee card at the International Cafe and get a shot or two of espresso. It is clear they have gone over to the dark side of industrial, processed food and are cutting corners to make more money. One day when we did not do a shore excursion, we stayed on the ship. The only thing open for lunch (it used to be one of the dining rooms remained open) was the Horizon Court, and it was terrible. Overcooked shrimp, dry and tough meat, etc.

The entertainment varied. A comedian was pretty good, as was a singer the last night. Other than this, not so much. We were on the cruise with people who had bought either 3 or 4 weeks with various stops, and they were complaining that the entertainment and food all recycled every week, which they had not known--they thought they were buying a continuous cruise.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin was comfortable, including the bed. No issues there.
