Trip Details
  • Sail Date: May 2015
  • Destination: the Caribbean
  • Cabin Type: Balcony

This is our 5th cruise with Carnival. We flew from Montreal to Fort Lauderdale and stayed at the Extended Stay which Edwin their chauffeur, made our stay very pleasant. We are a couple in early sixty. We choose this cruise (May 31, 2015) for the destinations. We are beach lovers.

The Conquest is a very nice ship: Paris theme decorated. Our balcony cabin was very comfortable and practical. Food was always good to exceptional from morning to evening. The service was excellent. Crew always do an outstanding job. We loved the reggae music on the pool deck, Caribbean themed music. We enjoyed the sea theater, under the stars with entertaining films every night.

In St-Maarten we took the taxi boat ($7/each for the day). We went shopping in the morning. Love the 5 Mr. Tablecloth's stores and went on the gorgeous beach in the afternoon. Soft white sand and calm waters bordered by coconut palms.. We saw 2 sea turtles while swimming; it was amazing.

St-Kitts you can hold monkeys, nice shopping at the port. We went to South Friar's Bay Beach = Awesome swimming. Very nice sand beach. The water is calm and was warm as bathwater. Quiet, peaceful place to lounge..

Puerto Rico - As there was not much time (7h am-1h pm) we went directly to the Ocean Park Beach (taxi for 2 $14/each way). Waves were quite strong and nice sandy bottom. It is not crowded. There was public restroom at the beginning of the beach. You can rent a chair $5. As we were looking for a taxi, we saw a superb Mazaretti and a Porch parked in front of an hotel. On the street nearby, we saw an homeless sleeping with his three bulldogs. What a sad contrast! Last year we went to Isla Verde ($21/each way) Also very nice beach.

Grand Turk just get off boat and enjoy beach. Some rocks but mostly sandy. Water was clear and warm. You can enjoy seeing the surf and music at Margaritaville’s place near by.

All and all we had fun and left all the cold behind us to enjoy beautiful sunny weather (80 degrees+) and a wonderful cruise experience. We would travel again on the great Carnival Conquest.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Carnival is very organized. A lady from Carnival made us wait till 11h30 before getting on the boat. She was great; she sang, talks to us, made us laugh

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Shopping is great. Beach was wonderful. Nice white sand. Water was calm and warm. People are friendly. Music with a band. South Friar's Bay beach better than Cockeshell. And there is no rocks.

Grand Turk

Better than 4 years ago. Not much rocks on the water. You should go see the surf at Margaritaville. Music was good to hear. Water was warm. There were 3 nice and calm dogs

San Juan

Shopping is great, but no much time to. Beach was wonderful. Nice white sand. Water was warm and waves strong. People are friendly. Wish we had more time to go shopping.

St. Maarten

Shopping is great. Mr. Tablecloth x5 stores amazing. Beach was wonderful. Nice white sand. Water was calm and warm. People are friendly. Music with a band.
