Yesterday we returned from our wonderful vacation along the river Seine on the Avalon Creativity. From the day we entered until our departure, the entire organization.... the food, the staff, the cruise director, the tours, the music and the itinerary were all first class and lent itself to a memorable vacation.

We had been on 18 ocean cruises and we still love them, but we were getting tired of the Caribbean, Mexico, some ports in Europe, etc. so we listened to many friends who suggested river cruising. I did a lot of research before booking and while all companies looked good, we decided on Avalon because the positive reviews were so plentiful. Those reviews were not wrong.

It was mostly an American crowd, with a few Canadians and Australians making up the passengers. The ship had 94 guests on this sailing so we really got to speak with and make friends with so many interesting people. We danced together, we sang together, and we took tours together.
