This was our first cruise and we went with an open mind but really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as we did. We normally stay in five star hotels and thought we might be disappointed with cruising.
We did a cruise and stay holiday and they were great from start to finish. We stayed for three days in Lake Garda and then travelled to the ship by coach. Our baggage was off loaded and we walked straight through and were checked in immediately with no delay at all. The staff were all pleasant and friendly.
When we got aboard we were told that our cabins were not ready yet but we could go to the buffet on Deck 14. We went and had some lunch and this was better than I expected, having read lots of forums and reviews I expected to be falling over people with carry on luggage and fighting my way to the food but this was not the case!
Comfortable cabin. Plenty of storage space. Comfortable bed, pillow a bit too bouncy for me. Slightly tired bathroom, but clean with nice toiletries. Reasonable balcony for two people to sit out.
We did our own thing in Venice. We got the water taxi, which was just a couple of minutes walk from the ship. I loved the journey to St Marks Square on the water. We wandered around Venice seeing the sights and doing some shopping as well as sitting outside for lunch
We then caught the water taxi back to the port.
We love Dubrovnik having spent a holiday here in the past. We got the shuttle bus laid on by P&O and wandered around on our own. There is a lot to see and do in Dubrovnik but as we had done most of it before we just enjoyed wandering around the Main Street and back streets before getting back on the bus and returning to the ship.
The views from the ship were great and we enjoyed spending the afternoon on the ship.
