Although the cruise was not bad. The weather was great and allowed us to use our aft cabin, which was great for viewing Alaska. The cabin we had was really showing it's wear, though; furniture was badly needing replacing and the outside balcony furniture had seen better days. The meals were okay but small portions in the dining room. The buffet was okay, the carving station was mostly roasted chicken. All in all the cruise was going to be fine, but then came our day to disembark, what happened was unbelievable.

We had a call from our son telling us our mother was in emergency care in the hospital near our home., he was advised by the Doctor's she wasn't going to survive. After hearing this, we let the cruise line know on Thursday of our cruise we needed to disembark as quickly as possible in Victoria. We already had prior approval to disembark in Victoria instead of Seattle. But now this disembarking became an emergency for us. We let the boats security know early Saturday morning about this emergency and told them we needed to disembark as quickly as possible, their reply to me was just wait until Canada Border Security give the okay. This we did, we were tied up at the Victoria Cruise Terminal, after waiting for over an hour. The security announces anyone who is not disembarking could now leave the ship to enjoy their day in Victoria. To our horror we watched over a 1000 passengers disembark before us. Even after they all got off, the cruise line personnel would still not let us off, Finally a cruise line employee came up to us, as he has now heard about our emergency. He phones to Border Security and explains our emergency, and we are now allowed to leave the ship.I am amazed as to why it took over an hour for the cruise line to let the Canada Border Security know of our emergency. This cruise line showed no compassion what's so ever especially when we needed them to react quickly. Our Mom passed away that evening.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony

the aft cabin was great for viewing the Alaska scenery. The cabin was in need of updating and the furniture needed to be replaced. It also was cramped for the three of us. The bathroom was made way too small due to them having a sliding door in the toilet area.
