I traveled on the Breakaway 5/31-6/7 to Bermuda with my husband and two small children. The only other time we cruised with NCL we said NEVER AGAIN, however, friends of ours invited us along and in consideration that we are from NJ and paid no airfare and got a kids sail free promotion with the ultimate dining package we decided to give them a second chance. I took the bait, stupid mistake!

We were in a balcony on deck 13 and the room was terribly small for 4 people and the size of the balcony was a joke, but still nice to have. We found ourselves shuffling around each other and by day 5 we had had enough of each other in such a confined space. After reading all the reviews on this site I was bracing myself for an awful vacation. I checked back almost daily to see what others were saying. If you look at the other reviewers who are raving about it and giving this cruise 5 stars you will notice a trend. They are either first time cruisers who have nothing to compare to or those who have forked over $5000+ to stay in the Haven.

If you are looking for a nice vacation NCL is certainly not the way to go. My family and I have been on several cruises, most recently, the Oasis of the Seas from Royal Caribbean which was the MOST awesome ship I have ever been on and Norwegian is a HUGE let down in comparison to that. They are basically telling you if you want a nicer vacation fork over the $5000+ and we’ll give it to you in the Haven. Otherwise you can suffer with the rest of the suckers who took the bait with the free drinks or meals. Even if you gave me all of the perks I wouldn’t go back on this boat.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

Cabin was awfully small in comparison to other ships I have been on. Can't access the closet cause the couch was in the way. The Bed was next to the balcony and we had our two kids on the couch bed and one on the bed that came out of the ceiling. The mattress was a rock. Television service was terrible. The room is right off the elevator which saves some walking, it's close to the buffet and pool deck too.
