Before my trip on the Paul Gauguin I read a review that said it was not a luxury cruise. That gave me pause and made me a little worried that it may not live up to my expectations. But I definitely found the cruise to be a luxury experience. I'm not writing this to say that anyone is wrong or to debate whether it is or isn't a luxury cruise; I'm no expert on the matter of luxury--but I just wanted to share my thoughts with others.

Here's what felt like luxury to me:

Professional, courteous staff that greeted us by name and cheerfully assisted us with every little thing we needed.

Cabin Review

Cabin D

First of all, I'm so glad we decided to go with a balcony stateroom. I absolutely love being able to step outside or sit outside with coffee in the morning to take in the beautiful scenery of the water and islands.

The cabin was spacious enough, although it was a little smaller than the balcony stateroom we had on the Coral Princess last year. But it was well appointed, and comfortable. I also liked the location - very close to the fitness center and spa.
