Today, my family (we were a group of 6 adults) and I returned from a 7 night western Caribbean cruise on Independence of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean ship. I was extremely disappointed in the overall cruise. I have previously cruised on Allure and Oasis of the Seas ships and found them to be better organized and run. Independence seemed to be understaffed. The food quality and selection was extremely poor. It seemed that there were no substantial variations in the menu in the Windjammer. Furthermore the food lacked eye appeal and presentation. As a result my entire family ate at the speciality restaurants every night of the cruise, at an additional up charge of between $25.00 and $35.00 per person per meal, less the discount offered by Royal Caribbean for multiple meals.

The ship itself was not spotlessly clean and the staff has not been as helpful on other cruises I have enjoyed. I absolutely would not cruise again on the Independence and overall have my doubts as to Royal Caribbean.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin was kept clean and neat by our cabin steward. Of the entire cruise and staff that we as a family of 6 were exposed and had interaction with our cabin steward was head and shoulders above them all.
