My wife & I left San Juan on the Caribbean Princess on December 21 for a cruise to Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, Tortola and St Thomas. I believe the ship delayed leaving port so that a few customers might make it to the ship from their delayed flights (due to poor weather). Boarding the ship was the easiest and most friendly experience we have had in our three cruises ( others were with Carnival and Royal Caribbean). The line of new passengers went along swiftly and we arrived in our cabin in no time at all. Our luggage was delivered shortly afterwards. We could get spoiled this way !

The cabin showed some aging but mostly only in terms of decor and styling and was much more than adequate. It was clean and the service by our Cabin Steward was excellent. The shower water was HOT and pressure was excellent. We had been upgraded to the Lido Deck and it was wonderful, top of the ship!

We chose the "Anytime Dining" and only had a problem on Christmas Day evening getting into a dining room for the 8 o'clock sitting. If we had requested reservations a few days earlier we would not have had the wait (90 minutes). Otherwise, the Anytime Dining was an excellent choice for us. We also enjoyed the Buffet in the Carib Cafe, especially the Seafood Night. The ship had a very good selection of modestly priced wines as well.

Cabin Review

Cabin BAL

The Caribbean Princess Lido deck balcony babins are very nice. While a bit dated in terms of decor, they are very clean and maintained extremely well by the cabin staff. We loved our views and the hot, high pressure shower. The "open" (no door) closet made the area appear larger and much more accessible.
