Our 2nd cruise, and first with our adult children, son aged 21 and daughter 20 - and their first cruise. Booked reasonably last minute as a request to visit Italy and have some sunshine. This was achieved spectacularly - Italy was brilliant, the sun shone and the seas were so calm as to be unbelievable.
We were somewhat thoughtful of what to expect, having only cruised once before, on a smaller ship - Azamara Quest last year - which is a more boutique style ship with excellent service.
However overall we have to say that this was a fantastic cruise - brilliant value for money - and visited excellent ports that made it so enjoyable including 2 sea days that were very relaxing.
Good cabin - no sofa, and small balcony (but plenty big enough for 2) - bathroom very clean, shower worked well. Bed very very comfortable. Quiet at rear of ship.
Plenty of room under bed to store big suitcases - and plenty of hanging space/storage.
Remember to take your bottle opener/corkscrew (though only a couple of quid on board).
Excellent port - lovely to cruise into - we moored up and then used the very efficient fixed price taxi service - at 13 euros each way which was money well spent. Lovely city walls - get there before it gets too crowded in the day - good value.
Wow - great place to cruise into pass St Marks Square etc - the mooring is a good 30+ minutes walk away from the canals proper - and so recommend using the People Mover at 1.30 euro each way - save your legs for walking around the more interesting parts of this amazing place. It will still take you 15 minutes to walk to the People Mover.
