Background information

Cabin Review

Cabin Extended Blacony

We were in B509 I believe. The group was around us. Our maid of honour, two best men and groomsman were in the interiors across the hall, my parents were beside us. We had an extended balcony room. It was spectacular. We had a ton of closet space, the suitcases fit perfectly under the bed, the extended suit has a couch which is a BIG plus. I loved the room. I was really impress. The beds were pretty comfy too. I love the motion people seem to get seasick from so I had wonderful sleeps every night. We were in-between elevators so it wasn’t loud at all, plus the bed was around a wall, that helped a lot.

I’ve read that the interior rooms are smaller, but I disagree. Both interior rooms were similar in size to my parents balcony room (regular). I’m really torn on what to do next time. Interiors are SO much cheaper but waking up in pitch black doesn’t seem appealing. We never used our balcony. We always went to lido fro breakfast and looked out the windows then the pool decks. I’m really torn. If you don’t mind waking up in the dark, the interiors are nothing to sniff at at all. Everyone in them liked them. Lack of air flow and no light is the down side, however.

Our steward kept things miraculously tidy. He even folded my clothes for me once when I had rushed out of the room for an activity we were late for. I love him a little. Okay, a lot.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Uhm. Well. I don’t know. I wish I had stayed on the boat or just gone to the beach. I will probably stay on the boat because it’s so spectacular next time. The shopping areas are all grocery stores, the alcohol is the same price it is in Canada and the people are extremely rude. I had a lady tell me to get out of her store because I was too fat. (I mean, I’m not small but I’m not like 300lbs or something. Not that that is an excuse to throw someone out of your store). I went back to the boat after that pretty dejected and rather upset. On top of that, the taxi that took me back, kicked me out half way through because no one else was going back to the boat and he left me standing in the middle of nowhere by myself, lost and confused til another one came along. By then i was in tears. it was a mess. Should have stuck to the beach. Oh well. Half of our cruisemates went to Black Beards Castle. I guess it’s not very castley and more housey, but not bad. They enjoyed it. It says you must be able to do 100 steps but they aren’t 100 steps at once, just over a period of a few hours. This would be an island I would suggest booking an excursion beforehand. They all filled up fast. The zipline wasn’t even available the first day aboard the ship. Next time I'm just staying on the ship, though.

Princess Cays

This was my second favourite. If you don't like tourist traps, this isn't for you. It's just a beach lined with vendors. I love tourist traps so this was fabulous for me. We relaxed in the sun, reviewed all the vendors and splashed in the beautiful ocean. No complaints at all.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We went to the Galleria Shopping Centre and the the Pirate Republic Bar. A shopping centre is a shopping centre no matter how fancy you make it. If you want to buy expensive stuff, go here. Macy's was pretty good, however.

The best part of the day, however, was Pirate republic. I wish I could post photos. The food was spectacular you get to sit on a dock, drink mojitos and watch the water taxis go by. What a lovely way to spend the evening.
