My wife and I have been on many cruises, most of them on other cruise lines. I have been on both the Getaway and the Breakaway, both ships were designed to maximize Norwegian's profits at the expense of their passengers enjoyment.

We were on the Gem and the ship has a much better floor plan. The cabin on the Breakaway and Getaway were a little smaller than on other ships, however the bathroom was nicer than most. The service for the most part was good, except for the cabin attendant who had to be reminded several times to bring ice each day. Port excursions were very expensive, so we did not go on any. the entertainment at Fat Cat's was excellent, the rest, the ones we could get into, was mediocre at best. The food at the buffet was good, except there was not a lot of choices. We went to Le Bistro and most of the food came out cold, even after I sent back the appetizer. Conversely we went to Moderno and the food was excellent, hot, tasty and a lot of it. Disembarkation was a total cluster, very poorly directed and there was a lot of walking evolved. Unless I got one hell of a deal I would not sail with Norwegian again!

Bathroom was nice, the rest of the room was very poorly laid out.
