Carnival Pride Cruise Dec 07 to 14
This was my second cruise (both with Carnival). My first cruise was a 4 day cruise on the Carnival Paradise in Jan 08. My girlfriend has cruised in the past, but got sea-sick. She said she would never cruise again. I told her that I would guarantee that she wouldn't get sick, and she didn't. In fact she enjoyed herself so much, she couldn't wait to go on another cruise!! To guarantee that she wouldn't get sick all it took was Ginger pills that can be purchased at any health food store (Thanks to Myth Busters!!). On this trip she also took the ginger pills and once again didn't get sick in spite of a couple of rough days at sea. The nice thing about ginger is that it's non-drowsy and all natural. If you're prone to sea-sickness, you may want to look into this.
After reading reviews here, we brought a few things with us. One of the things we had found on the Paradise was that water and soft drinks were VERY expensive compared to what one pays in town. So, one of the tips I picked up here was to bring our own water (24 bottles) and soft drinks (2 - 12 can cases) on a wheeled, collapsible dolly. This also came in handy for some other items as well. We had gotten a few looks from some of the other cruisers who I think thought we would have it confiscated, but were surprised to see us able to take all this on board.
LOTS of drawer and closet space! The extended balcony is well worth any increase in fare. Room location was good, with a great view!
