I am a single woman aged 79 and this cruise was bought for me by my stepson and his wife as a present. Britannia is a superb 21st century cruise ship. Very modern. Very British. The whole ship was a delight, as were the bars, entertainment areas, pool decks and cabins. The dining arrangements meant that you could opt for Club dining, meaning set times, or Freedom Dining, when you can dine anytime between 6-9.30 pm. The Horizon buffet was nicely laid out with plentiful seating. All the entertainment was excellent, especially in the LIve Lounge, where 'Pulse' played (an excellent group of 2 guitarists, drummer and keyboard player). The shows in the Theatre were of such high quality. My balcony cabin was nicely laid out, with the White Company providing toiletries. It was nice to have a shower with a glass door, rather than the proverbial curtain. It was half-term on my cruise and the children on board were well looked after by the children's entertainers, etc. The quality of the food was excellent in all respects. I did not use the shore excursions, as I prefer to do my own thing. The embarkation and debarkation process was extremely smooth and quick. I would not hesitate to book another cruise on this ship. Well done P & O.
