We cruised on the Magic to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We were with 6 other people including our son and daughter in law plus friends. We drove down the day before and stayed at The Springhill Suites in Seaport so we could go to the Kemah Boardwalk. If you have time, I recommend visiting the boardwalk. Great entertainment and food. Nice hotel and about 30 minutes away from the port. Embarkation went smoothly. I would definitely use a porter for your luggage. We had FTTF so our cabin was ready and luggage was already waiting for us when we got to the cabin. The staff was very friendly and knew us by name after the 1st night. Our waitstaff was terrific. They made celebrating our anniversary special for us. Our cabin steward was also great and took care of us very well. Everyone we were in contact with was great including the spa attendants and bartenders as well as the guest service attendants. The Amazing Cozumel Race was fun. The cave tubing and zip line in Belize was great. The Maya Key Private Island Retreat in Roatan was wonderful, this was our favorite port. We also went to The Seuss Breakfast on Friday. It was really fun and not just for kids. The debarkation process was pretty easy. Again. I would use a porter for your luggage. This also gets you through the line quicker because they have seperate lines for the people using porters. Patience is needed because there are so many people trying to get their cars and leave as well as the next group of cruisers waiting to embark so it is crowded. We lost a couple of carry on bags but luckily the port personnel found them and shipped them home to us. Remember to have name tags on all luggage in case that happens. We had an awesome vacation. Excellent value.

On a side note, if you can find other cruisers before hand via Cruise Critic Roll Calls, I would do that because you can learn a lot of good tips and get involved in activities with fellow cruisers. We did a meet and greet at The Red Frog Pub, a Slot Pull, Wine Under The Stars, a door decorating contest and other activities that our group put together. It made the cruise more enjoyable.

Cabin 8A

Clean and comfortable with lots of storage space. Our cabin steward, Antonio, was great. He took care of all our needs.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Galveston was very hectic so you must plan on being patient. Everyone has a job to do and they try hard to make it an easy experience but when you are trying to embark thousands of people it takes time.
