Embarkation was dis-organized and a disaster. Loooong lines with a few men literally barking orders to move over and go to the end of the line (not to us but to many others). Well there was no signs to tell people where they where the line was. We have been on 28 cruises and never seen anything like this. We had a mini-suite and the cabin was very basic but fine. Balcony small. Had 2 tv's and 2 remotes but very confusing. If you tried to turn one on the other went off and if you watched one in bed and tried to turn it off the other one came on so you had to get up and try to turn it off. Bad system The bathroom towels were like sand paper and we asked our steward and he agreed and mentioned it could be the chemicals they were washed in. They not only didn't look fluffy but they looked grey. There were no Q-tips of cotton ball unless you asked for them. The table tennis tables were on a high floor outside in the wind so were not really usable. After about a week they had a tournament for which they moved the table indoors for 1 hour and each game in the tournament was played to 7 points to get it done. Very disappointing . No way to follow the route of the ship on the TV and actually not even a screen in a central location. There was a paper map with a route marked with a highlighter - tacky. No bar on a high floor forward to meet and look out the window as we went. There were plenty of bars but no windows except the sea view bar which was way to windy and cold. The man who did the reporting from the bridge could not speak English enough to understand. The ship docked at LeHavre at 8 AM and we were charged 8 dollars for a shuttle to City Center and there was absolutely NOTHING open till 2 PM . The food was good at the buffet and plenty of variety. The dining room food was also good and the steak house was great and well worth the fee. There was no decent ice cream anywhere that we found. Only soft serve or dessert in the dining room. Room service was VERY prompt and our cabin steward was great as was our bartender in Crooners. The unbelievably loud woman screaming dance lessons from the atrium below however spoiled Happy Hour. You could not hear each other talk till she finished.

Brief jottings from the 4 of us
