We have been on 5 river cruises but this was the first one with Viking. The staff were fine!
The ship - on which we paid extra to have a third floor suite - was parked next to another ship at least 5 times. What a disappointment to wake up 3 days in a row only to see another person's room as our view. On previous AVALON cruise this never happened and noticed them in several ports this year - never beside another ship!
The ship was not always docked at the port advertised - some times 20 - 30 minutes away - the buses would leave and then the ship would leave - once the ship was not even where the tour ended - 30 minutes away. This meant that after the tour they would give free time - 2 + hours at times - that is just too much time away from the ship for 75 - 87 year olds!
