Sail Date: May 2015

After our first river cruise we signed up for the "maiden voyage" of the Viking Star, before the keel was even laid. After that we went on one more river cruise and waited for May 2015. We travel with another couple and anticipated the experience realizing Viking had never done this before.

The first glitch was their sign up procedure for shore excursions. We could not link the two couples even after numerous phone calls and repetition of solutions that wouldn't work and never being able to get someone to call back. That was the first "glitch" and we discussed this on the ship with senior Viking people to allow them to modify their procedures.

The second glitch was at Bergen airport. Viking staff gave conflicting advice so we had our boarding document but our friends waited 40 minutes at the ship terminal to make this happen. Also there was no one from Viking to take your luggage out to the buses.
