We have travelled extensively including cruises, but had never taken a river cruise. We researched a lot of literature first befor choosing Viking River Cruise for a cruise up the Rhine River from Basel Switzerland to Amsterdam. Our trip included a pre -visit to Lucerne and a post cruise visit to Amsterdam all arranged through Viking.
To say the least trip was fabulous the ship was beautiful and new, the crew was excellent, and the food prepared by our Austrian chef was 5 star.
The passengers where from around the world - the atmosphere and dress was business casual.

The Idi was brand a brand new ship and the cabin was lovely! practical,clean, and the bed was great. The balcony was a nice feature to sit out on and view the shoreline
