We were sold the cruise on the understanding that Windstar had set aside a considerable amount of $ to refurbish the recently purchased Seabourn Ship and that the destinations were amongst the more elite, small ports where larger liners were unable to dock.

The boarding process seemed straightforward, we were very soon in our stateroom, which, to our pleasure seemed, large, well decorated, nice fabrics and a great bed. All seemed very positive, on closer inspection, there were some noticeable shoddy edges, the silicone surrounding the window was badly damaged and we had several "flappy bits" distracting from the view, the bathroom whilst large, was a little dated and may have benefitted from some of the $ set aside for refurbishment. The reception desk, is literally a hole in the wall, whilst the reception staff were absolutely lovely, professional, positive, helpful and strong advocates for customer service, they sadly have to work in a small hole with a very basic table and no filing systems or furniture. not a great impression of a luxury ship.

The Food is another highlight, the Restaurant is excellent, very high class, not cramped, table for two no problem, great wine list, well paced service. the new decor is gorgeous and gives the illusion of a top restaurant. We were very impressed every time we ate in there. I wouldn't bother with the Candles restaurant option, too cramped and not particularly romantic.. Oh and the BBQ evening was a bit of a mess too, sadly it was a cold, windy evening, so we didn't bother hanging around too long. We queued patiently with everyone else ate our food which was adequate then went back to our cabin..
