This was my first cruise and my first trip to Hawaii. I traveled with a friend and we split the cost of a balcony room on the lido deck. I live in SF. A friend took the Bon Voyage Experience which allowed all of us to board at 11am. It took so long to board that my friend missed the tour that goes along w/the experience. We arrived at the port around 10:30am and waited while our friend parked her car. We noticed that many people were boarding at 10:30 even though it's supposed to start at 1pm. If you take the Bon Voyage experience get there at 10am so you can board and be there in time for the tour. All news reports say that the CDC confirmed that norovirus was on the ship. This was announced by the captain on the 2nd day of the cruise. Princess did a great job in containing the virus. Luckily we did not get sick. The ship is amazing and the cruise experience is also amazing. But 15 days is too long for me. Next time I cruise it will be maximum 7-8 days and if it's Princess I want the same Lido deck and balcony cabin. The location was perfect. Why are there no toilet seat covers? Yes all the bathrooms I saw were clean but when there's norovirus on the ship who wants to sit on a toilet w/no seat cover? I guess the plumbing couldn't take flushing seat covers but I don't like that. Sometimes we couldn't get back to the cabin to use the bathroom. I recommend the Bon Voyage Experience for anyone who has not cruised and wants a taste of what it's like. You will know about the boarding process because you'll be treated the same as a passenger. I love Hawaii and will visit again by flying and staying at a hotel to I can relax on the beach.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

This is the perfect cabin and location. I loved it. We were so close to everything on the lido deck. the pizza, the bar, the hamburgers, the ice cream, the movies, the Horizon, the swimming pools. Couldn't be better. The only thing I didn't like is the small shower. But that's the way it is when cruising I guess unless you have suite? The balcony is great. It's amazing to sit there and be in the middle of the ocean.

Port Reviews

San Francisco

I like being able to drive into the port to be dropped off instead of being in the street. Yes it was crowded but how could it not be? The SF port is excellent.

Maui

Lahaina is right there. The tender experience could be better. We waited in line for one hour to get back to the ship. We both loved Lahaina and want to return. Yes it's commercial but I still thought it was beautiful.

Ensenada

This was a short visit and we were worried about going too far and not being able to return in time. It was interesting. I was in Ensenada many years ago and it has certainly changed and grown. We shopped, found a place with free wi-fi (that was great) and had a snack.
