Sail Date: May 2015

I have just returned from a 14 night trip with my partner and in-laws and the Caribbean princess did not disappoint!

There was only 1 let down which was with the embarkation process which I believe was the fault of the Southampton port authorities.

On arrival to our state room we were promptly greeted by Dennis our steward who greeted us by name and was most accommodating when we requested additional hangers etc., all through the cruise he was on hand to help with anything we needed, he is a great asset to Princess.

Cabin Review

Cabin I

The cabin was spacious considering it was an inside, this is the 1st time we have opted for this type of room and we were more than happy with it, only downside is not knowing what the weather is looking like although this is overcome by checking out the bridge cam on the TV.

shower was lovely with great pressure and never an issue with hot water. toiletries were provided when required and towels changed as you wish, bed was more than comfortable and big (I wish I could take it home with me) Linins were changed every few days.

In room service was great, we ordered coffee to be delivered most mornings.

Room Steward was fantastic and again we could do with him at home :)

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We loved Barcelona !

lots to see and do, although taking the Princess shuttle at $5 per person each way was somewhat of a con! - it literally takes you just outside the port and you still have to walk a way to get into town!

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Lovely little place, with lots to see, we took an open top bus tour of the area and this was only 8 Euro per person. you could easily walk to the town area from the ship and prices ashore were reasonable.

Genoa

We didn't really like Genoa, this could be due to the day we arrived it was a Sunday so lots of places were closed. the town was quite a distance from the port and prices here were more expensive than anywhere else we found.

Marseille

Lovely port, we took the princess shuttle to the town at $8 per person each way, this is needed here although the bus drops you off quite a distance from the town again, there are lots of nice shops and bars etc to stop in and watch the world go by.

Gibraltar

The day in Gib was slightly tainted as the weather early on was not great however this was not long lasting! - it soon warmed up!

I would recommend waiting to buy your duty free items here, prices for alcohol and fragrances are much cheaper than on the ship and any other port we visited.

a lovely square to sit in with a coffee and enjoy the atmosphere.

The town was about a 15 min walk from the ship
