Having been on a number of P&O cruises we have normally been happy with them. This is our first review so here goes! Embarkation: good. Accommodation: We decided to treat ourselves to a suite this time (without the children!), but this was a mistake, whilst the suite was spacious for the two of us, it's position was terrible! The balcony was very narrow and the Lido deck above overhang by some distance so there was no chance of getting any sun on it! The worst problem though was the noise from the above deck, from people walking, trolleys and even people having conversations (and yes this was inside the cabin, not on the balcony!) P&O's response to our complaint was, 'sorry but we are full so can't move you.'! Restaurants: The lack of wine waiters in the restaurants is a major disappointment, it took us 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine for our meal and because of the lack of knowledge the waiters could not advise on a suitable bottle with the foods we had chosen! Wine list is not as extensive as it used to be, the waiters are under far more stress having to serve more people. Sadly the Food served in the main restaurants is no where near as good as it used to be - I think it is a ploy by P&O to get you to book into the speciality restaurants (which incidentally are excellent - from food to service!) but these get booked up very quickly! Spa facilities: still very expensive for what you get and watch them - my husband booked and paid for a 100 min sea mineral spa, but didn't get it! Fortunately friends who were with us booked the same and when they compared the treatment, we discovered he hadn't got what he booked so we demanded our money back! Gym area: Nice clean with plenty of machines, though can get busy on sea days. If you like exercise classes it can be difficult to hear the instructor with the machines in the background. Shore Excursions: really enjoyable excursion in Amsterdam evening scenic canal boat tour with cheese and wine - excellent tour guide! Excursions still a bit over priced though. Entertainment: the onboard dancers/singers were OK, preferred the visiting band 'walk like a man' - brilliant! Overall Disembarkation: very good, took 30 minutes from leaving our cabin to meeting our minibus! Lets hope our next cruise in August on Azura is better!

Avoid Riveira Deck!

Cabin Review

Suite with Balcony and Bath/Shower
Cabin AD R409
Good sized cabin, balcony too narrow and overhang of upper deck made sitting on it redundant! Very clean and steward and butler very friendly and helpful.
